Super baby (Wardrobe by LP, btw )

Meet Kanga.

Her name means alcohol in some Australian aboriginal language- don’t worry, I checked several places, lol.  She is a mini Texas Heeler.

Let’s see if I get this right the first time around.  A Texas Heeler is sort of a ‘designer breed’ – a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Heeler (cattle dog).  She’s a mini because her mom, Daisy, is a mini Australian Shepherd (& beautiful, btw) so she will be small too.  Plus she is the runt and I’ve ALWAYS had exceptional luck with runts.  I prefer them madly.

I can’t wait to hold her and squeeze her and luff her   Smell her puppy breath and feel her puppy teeth and look into her puppy eyes.  She is coming in with Vixen on the 24th for a girls only weekend (Quicksilver will be helping at the races again) ;D

I had several names tossing around – Karma, Caedyn & Mojito (Mojo) were at the top of the list too, but ultimately, I let Quicksilver choose the winner.  He’s had no input with her and I felt it was important to include him in something (& I could NOT decide for the life of me!!).  He is still pretty devastated about losing Tejah and I really want him to connect and bond with this new baby.

I did NOT think he would pick Kanga, let alone like it (sounds similar to Tejah).  I thought he would think it too weird sounding, etc etc (I always pick weird names) but he chose it right off the bat saying he really liked it.

Well, then.  Alrighty.  Of course, it has to fit her too so if it just doesn’t fit her when she gets here, we will change it, but I find it pretty fitting for an Australian breed AND it goes along with the whole alcohol theme (Cerveza is our other dog).  Two birds with one stone.
